Dwight Ledbetter, Co-owner/Vice President and Director of Support, has always held a passion for the water, immersing himself since he was four years old in waterborne activities. Raised on Florida’s Space Coast, he sailed and won championships while leading his AAU Swim Team to consecutive State Titles, a seventh in the National Junior Olympics, and setting eight high school records.

Early in his career, Dwight pursued the allure of roughnecking in the offshore oil fields of the Gulf of Mexico. He became a Liquid Nitrogen Operator, where once again he set records, this time in the onsite physics of well control. When the oil field crashed in 1985, he seized the opportunity to get back to the sea as a professional crewman racing on a legendary Maxi Yacht in England.

In his 18 years as a “yachtie”, Dwight won the Maxi World Championships and Antigua Race twice each, as well as the Newport to Bermuda Race and the prestigious Fastnet Race. He has sailed 196,000 bluewater miles, crossing the Atlantic 12 times, and sailing the oceans from Quebec to Buenos Aires, and Hawaii to Italy.

Dwight later transitioned to luxury motoryachts, including the 120’ Sport Fish CADENCE, largest in the world at the time. For five years, he served as the personal captain for the Chairman of U.S. superyacht builder Trinity Yachts.

His interests include sailing, surfing, and design and implementation of IT information technologies.
